Buffer times help ensure that new interviews aren't scheduled too close to existing ones, preventing interviewers from being overwhelmed by back-to-back meetings. You can set a buffer of 15 or 30 minutes before, after, or both around an interview. During this buffer period, ModernLoop will attempt to reserve this time for the interviewer, allowing for preparation, relaxation, or wrap-up.

Buffer times are considered "soft conflicts," meaning they are flexible. The system will highlight any buffer conflicts and issue a warning during scheduling, but it won’t block the booking entirely. To keep the interviewer’s calendar clean, no additional calendar events are created for buffer times.

• Buffers are considered within ModernLoop's scheduling logic but do not create actual calendar events.
• They prevent the system from showing available time slots that would violate the buffer period.

How to add buffer times to your organization's default settings

1. Navigate to Organization settings → Interviewers.

2. From the Hours & availability tab, scroll down to find Buffer times.

3. Click the arrow to adjust the buffer time before and/or after interviews.

4. You can choose to set buffer times to Off, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes for both before and after interviews.

5. Click Save to apply the changes

   

How to set custom buffer times for individual interviewers

1. Navigate to the Directory tab and select the interviewer you want to update.
2. From the Info tab, scroll down to the Buffer times section.
3. Click Edit.
